One thousand employees will prune yahoo!


Yahoo! Inc. plans to cut 10 percent of its employees. Business Insider, a US-based technology and business website, has published a report citing the closure of the company's closest sources since the end of this month.
The report said on Wednesday that nearly a thousand workers could be tricked out of Yahoo! Media, Europe's business and technology platforms.
Business analysts say that in a letter written by Investor Starboard Value LP along with Yahoo, emphasis is on employee retrenchment. In this, Yahoo's chief executive Marissa Mayer and the team led by him are under pressure. The Starboard authorities did not mention the names of Merissa Meyer, and it was time for him and his team to leave. Because of the price of Yahoo stock, the threat from the investor has changed the entire Yahoo! board. Yahoo spokeswoman Rebecca Nufeld said, the company will be informed about the plan to turn around soon. Currently, 0.75 percent shareholder in Yahoo! Starboard has been pushing for a change in the company from 2014. They want Yahoo to separate the assets of the Asia region and take auction of its original search and advertising business. But Yahoo's board of directors is opposing it. The company has appointed the management consulting firm McNecy and Company to set up Yahoo's business. If the worker quits, Yahoo will be the biggest change in its media unit.
